The Kiss

It is not very often after 17 years of sculpting that I feel challenged. After so many years, pieces come very easily, as if my thoughts are transformed through my hands.

Then, I started "The Kiss."

The process of creation was totally amazing. I was so excited to be working on this sculpture that I couldn't concentrate on anything else. Every journey, every step to completion was challenging.

It began with a structural frame. Then, I added piece after piece of steel until the sculpture was formed. After she was complete, I had to grind and weld in layers to create the vision in my mind. For me it is the same process as putting a jigsaw puzzle together. There are almost 300 pieces of hair. Then, to finish the piece, I colored it with heat and clear-coated it.

Your work and imagination are inspiring. My clients and I await your newest pieces that will evolve throughout the year to come. Will you be doing any shows in the Los Angeles or New York area soon?
